In 1977, Bangladesh was in its early years as an independent nation, having gained independence from Pakistan in 1971. The country faced a number of challenges, including poverty, political instability, and natural disasters. The economy was largely agrarian, with a significant portion of the population working in agriculture.
The government, led by President Ziaur Rahman, was working to improve infrastructure, promote industrialization, and spur economic growth. The year 1977 also saw the formation of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, which would play a significant role in the country’s political landscape in the decades to come.
Not much to say about that trip i made in 1977, on my way to Thailand, I was still a student in Architecture. traveling in Asia and looking for adventure
